Hi Yard man, I fished Prince William Sound for 13 years. I think the little 9.9 hp kicker motors can not only get you back home (slowly), but are worth more than what they cost for piece of mind. Besides that, a kicker can serve as a trolling motor on rough windy days and save that battery for your Minn Kota. Best of fishing. I've been working daily on my 1955 Nomad restoration and even been neglecting my garden. The garden is producing so much, I have to neglect my restoration after this week is over. SALSA time and a few more pickles. Bob
