Just installed a new TiVo Edge for cable DVR with Lifetime access (no monthly fees) on my 65" LG OLED TV. It's an improvement in most ways over Xfinity/Comcast's X1 DVR.

The interface is very fast, it has voice capability (that I haven't enabled yet), and for the most part it's also better than the TiVo Premiere XL4 I use in my office. I do prefer the interface of the XL 4 though, as it gives a small preview window in the upper right corner of the guide of the current show. The Edge interface does not have that and looks more like current DVR interfaces with a standard grid for the guide.

I have not used the built-in streaming apps on the Edge and probably won't, as I prefer my Apple TV 4K for that.

I plan on returning the X1 box to Xfinity to save $10 per month in fees and I will get a TiVo Mini or TiVo Mini LUX to replace it. It'll be slaved to the Edge for getting content in the master bedroom. The Mini will pay for itself in 15 months to two years that way, depending on which model I buy

I have no need for the Peacock streaming service even though it's included with the X1. I have access to more than I can reasonably watch already.
