Hi Frank, how are you doing today?
How's life on the short-side. I was a little bit disappointed when you told me you covered so soon on monday. Although you made money on (by limiting your losses) I don't think it was a good idea. Remember, shorting Dell is not about making money, it's about learning things the hard way. But I also have to make you a compli- ment because it was a good move to step back in $104.
Maybe you read DLJ raised it's price-target. Well, don't worry about it. It's the usual stuff. Hope you stayed calm, and did no "panic-buying". Hank told us you were an experienced short and everyone on this thread knows that an experienced short never covers when "the story" is still intact.
Well, I assume you read Mike's story today. No worries anymore, fundamentals are still intact. So you can stick to your plan.
Frank, hold on & don't give up. I really admire you courage. America can be proud having citizens like you. Only "a Marlboro-man with balls" has the guts to be a bear on Dell, 2 weeks before earnings, 2 weeks before the split-announcements, excellent fundamentals, a bright outlook for the PC-market in general, etc.
To be honest to you, deep down inside I wish that I was also such a brave warrior like you. But I'm not. It's the brains, you know. They prevent me to do such things.
Anyhow, wish you all the best, we keep in touch,
Paul |
