Telxius takes multivendor approach to 400G Ethernet service delivery
Sept. 20, 2021
Telxius, a spinout of Telefónica that operates submarine networks that link the U.S., Latin America, Europe, and elsewhere, says it now offers 400G Ethernet services on its infrastructure. The company cites its optical network hardware providers, Ciena (NYSE: CIEN) and Infinera (NASDAQ: INFN), as key to this achievement.
“Telxius’s network is the first to have a 400-Gbps Ethernet interface available in both the transatlantic and the LATAM-USA routes, including Marea, Dunant, Brusa, Junior, Tannat, and Mistral subsea cables,” commented Guillermo Cañete, vice president, network planning at Telxius. “The collaboration with top-tier providers such as Infinera and Ciena opens up possibilities for Telxius to offer enhanced Ethernet services to customers that seamlessly support the rapid bandwidth demands of today’s data-intensive cloud and network applications.”
