I've noticed that too. I've also noticed an increasing propensity for women on TV - reporters, commentators - to add an "ah" sound to the end of short sentences. Examples like, "That's amazingah", or "Get it nowah" are just everyday things I hear. Also, and even among the most educated of people, "Me and my friend went to the club."

Am I getting more sensitive to such things in my old age? Have these manners of speaking always been with us? I'm sure that these same people do not write with such inappropriate inflections and bad grammar.
