Re <<Casper maybe technically better than Ethereum but beta was better than VHS, the best technology doesn’t always win. The Lindy effect bets on Ethereum>>

Am currently working to pitch one blockchain sub-project to a prospective USA corporate client as a part of Asia / China expansion in December, and given the back & forth I am convinced even the progressive corporates are just starting to sniff at blockchain, whereas the blockchain people have only a proto-idea on how to market to the corporates, and

I also introduced a bunch of blockchain boyz and girlz to another ex-corporate client to (i) streamline operations, (ii) reduce cost, (iii) create a new class of transaction-able financial assets. Given the issues involved, Ethereum cannot handle it, and if tried with Ethereum, a dead-end shall be deadly-ahead. I am getting monthly report from the corporate because of friendship. The corporate is seriously excited as full deployment would enable it to sharply increase throughput, leverage new capital sources, and take out the #1 …3 of the industry stealthy-stealthy.

By above proto-exposures I observe that Ethereum vs Casper might not be VHS vs Betamax, but VHS against Blu-Ray, or maybe CD vs streaming. If I am wrong, lesson noted, but if I am correct, transformative dynastic stance results, as long as I manage to hodl.

As to China and crypto, there might be a MSM misunderstanding of China and of crypto. China wishes to be leader of blockchain, but will not tolerate bitcoin / private money.

Is Casper private money? No. Can it be? Sure. Just like cigarettes and chocolate, nylon and sausages. Or Crypto Iron or Crypto Copper?

Is Bitcoin private money? Absolutely, for it has no other use-case other than as Crypto Gold.

Ethereum? Arguable. Maybe Crypto Silver or Crypto Palladium?

For example, whilst China is determined to root out PoW Bitcoin and PoW Ethereum, and gives no dispensation to Dogecoin trading, China, through BSN businesswire.com’s-BSN-as-a-Blockchain-Partner , has deployed lots (more than in rest of the world) of nodes in China for China.

China / Xi Jinping cleared the decks for One Belt One Road and a bunch of other reforms by cracking down hard on corruption, and on cronyism.

China / Xi Jinping is clearing the decks for the digital-RMB (even though digital-RMB itself is ‘just’ programmable-money but not decentralized blockchain, and just the go-to on- / off- ramp for China.

China wants blockchain for B2B and B2C, but wishes to avoid the worst of the C2C - the RMB 69M NFT photo of a dog and such. How navigation goes time shall tell. But navigation shall happen.
China / Xi Jinping is for blockchain scmp.com
