You make it sound so simple, and seem to disregard there are still smart ways, and not so smart ways of doing politics e.g. many now see that much of the shit show we see today with the Republican dominance , including the right wing supreme court, was the failure of Obama to listen to the progressives in 2009 and go big on the stimulus package, which probably resulted in the huge defeat the Democrats had at the polls in 2010.
He had the votes to do that, but instead went with the moderates and Republicans for a stimulus that was too small and it took too long and the Democrats had no real policies to run on, e.g. affordable pre school and college, and so we got massacred in the 2010 election.
Obama, and the moderates, inadvertently, I am sure, played right into the hands of the Republicans in 2009 by having such a small stimulus!!
This is why the Republicans are refusing to help!! They know a win for Democrats is a threat to them at the polls!!
Biden knows this and wanted to not make the same mistake Obama did, and is why he has been pushing for the 3.5 trillion package.
At some point we Democrats need to quit playing nice with the Republicans and we need all hands on deck for the fight, or we may get massacred again in 2022!
