The real hostility will develop between ORCL and IBM. Although I think AOL is a good player, they really don't have the experience under their belt to effectively pull this off.

The crew at ORCL is in dire need of some respect. This is some serious ego / pride on the line, and I think they'll see the need to duke it out with the other real player.....IBM.

Its simple. They get the browser and add to their already substantial web development initiative, while at the same time securing a new source of ad revenue from the banners and getting MSFT off the dance floor. They have the real ability to make this work and if they don't do it now, they'll have another 20 years to kick themselves in the ass for not doing so. And IMO, they'll flick off ORCL like a fly.
