Thats why Trump waited so long to surrender to the Taliban?

He (Trump) got tired of the story that the generals were feeding him, and he didn't want to keep risking American lives on a mission that was clearly going nowhere after 15 years.

Note that he still had troops in Afghanistan when he left office.
