I think Manchin is basically a criminal, as is Sinema, just not as crazy.

What I can't figure out is why he is a dem?

Neither he or his daughter, or Sinema have much of a conscience.

Manchin is a proxy for his campaign donors......like all of them. He thinks what they tell him to think. Him and Sinema just happen to hold sway right now. Only problem with these two is that I don't believe they are good actors in the game anymore. They are willing to sink the ship from the looks of it. This time around though the consequences will be disastrous. This is what happens when you have Citizens United in place......this was all foretold when that came to be.
