Sorry Pugs, I must disagree with you on this one.

"He who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death." Exodus 21:12-14

killing a murderer is nevertheless murder

The modern philosophy that cold-blooded murder (or mass murder) and capitol punishment are morally equivalent is tragically flawed. I suppose that that incarcerating a kidnapper is none the less kidnapping.

I do have some problems with capitol punishment. It is used disproportionately for people of color and the poor. Prosecutors are rewarded for getting a death sentence such that they sometimes even hide evidence that would prove innocence of the defendant. And on several occasions, late evidence that suggested innocence was ignored because it did not make the mandated deadline.

I believe that capitol punishment should be:
1) Reserved only for the most heinous of crimes against humanity
2) Require due diligence and overwhelmingly strong evidence
3) Be swift and humane
4) Be set aside if new evidence suggests a reasonable doubt as to the guilt of the defendant.

Carla Tucker's crimes warranted the death sentence. If in fact, she was a Christian, then she must accept that Her savior is also a Just God, and that it is His law that demanded her death. She hopefully found comfort in knowing that her eternal redemption was secure.
