Your thought process is warped by decades of losing elections. Let me tell you how it is in the real world. The country supports this very liberal piece of legislation. Give voters a choice between a moderate who tries to stop everything or a liberal who wants to pass everything and the latter will win. You think it's only between doing nothing (conservatism) or doing almost nothing (moderate). What if Americans want more from their government? Recall, Manchin voted for the Bush tax cuts and gave himself massive bonuses on top of his insane salary (considering he doesn't do anything). They hide behind words like "moderate" and "conservative" to syphon money from the Treasury into the hands of the richest people in the country. Now that the polls show we're far more liberal than anyone thought, things have changed forever. We'll return to our liberal roots.
