It's been nine months since the insurrection and there's been only one hearing.
First they tried to get a bipartisan committee to investigate. The Rs balked. Then the Democrats put together a J6 committee led by BennieThompson with just a couple of Rs on board. That investigation has issued a couple dozen subpoenas already, has gotten phone and email records and is going strong. Hearings come later.
It's been one month since Afghanistan and she's already investigating it.
That was relatively easy to do compared to the Jan 6 insurrection.
She gave her word the two bills would be linked, then went back on her word.
She is still working on it. If she would have brought those bills to a vote, they would have been voted down, something no one wanted. Including the Squad.
The Squad forced her to keep her word. First you say she went back on her word, then you say she was forced to keep her word. The Squad did not "force" her to keep her word. They have complicated the process. Unnecessarily, IMO. The $6t was never going to happen and Bernie knew it. He was hoping for $3t. That won't happen either and Pelosi knew it. But she is in favor of both bills, she just wants them to be something that won't be fodder for the Rs to caricature next year. They will probably get around $2t, spent over a shorter period of time. If the Progressives knew what they were doing, the bills would have passed already. It should be done as quickly as possible because it is impossible to actually spend that much money effectively and quickly. Although it won't be $2t in a year, more like 5-7 years, I would guess. Still, they need to set up the programs and get them going so people actually feel their presence and the Ds can tell them, see we did this, if you want these programs to continue, vote Democratic. The Rs will kill them.
You only asked for one "ever so small....smidgen of evidence" I gave you four really big examples. No, actually, you didn't. |
