IMO, the progressives follow humanitarian modern social science, the moderates not so much, and the conservatives not at all.

This is why over 50% of scientists call themselves liberal and only 6% Republicans.

They are trained to use logic and facts.

Simple as that.

What do you think a moderate is, say compared to a progressive?

I have always been a liberal because I have always looked forward to the edge of knowledge as much as possible..

To me a liberal is a person who judges things on their merits and not on dogma.
