If you would watch this one video he explains it so well. The thesis is that before 100 years ago, most people did not use the hypothetical, or abstractions, they kept everything in the concrete world and then he gives examples. E.g. if you protested about the horrible things done to Black people and then say:" what if you were black". They would say something like:" but I am not black" They refused to entertain the hypothetical, but he explains it so much better than I can. Don't be so stubborn and just watch the damn lecture, it is soooo good, and he makes his point soo well, I can't believe you wouldn't change your mind :)>!
