yes, you are correct - cursive is old school now, sadly.

my point was though, that their printing was barely
legible which imo is indicative of low skill levels in other
areas. however, given that I am not involved even a little
bit in what goes on in a classroom these days, I could be
completely off base. I can say they were very attentive
and asked a lot of questions. being curious is always a
good thing.
