Yep retired from that profession for 11 years - I got out at 55 due to a so called "industrial accident" that was pretty much gross negligence on the part of an incompetent boob. Although I took a drop in income the expense of driving to work and subsidizing materials means I ended up gaining with cash flow.
Struck me at the time as a no brainer to take early retirement. When I pointed out the numbers to someone much smarter than me, I was surprised to find he took early retirement as well.
Life is much too short to not take the best of it and wring as many smiles out of it as possible. This retirement gig has been entertaining so far. Way too much going on to get bored.
