Cursive handwriting replaced with STEM ?

What's the world coming to ?

After my grandmother graduated from USC in 1918 she could recite an extensive library of poetry and literature from memory, do fascinating bird calls, play the piano, of course foreign languages and was a specialist grammar, spelling and handwriting nazi. When I was age 6 or so she'd return the letters I wrote to her, corrected in red pen. That's fully educated.

I guess something might come of that electricity stuff and the Thomas Edison types. But it can't replace culture.

Ask any college grad today to recite the Iiad or Byron - most like myself can't.
