How can you not be concerned that future presidents will simply do the same?

They all color a bit outside the lines. When they do it tactically, that's SOP. It's SCOTUS's job to slap them back. Everybody in or close to their lanes. Business as usual. That's not an expression or approval, only of reality.


Do you seriously believe that was anything but a strike at the heart of the Constitution?


Whittling around the edges of the Constitution in a broken environment. Nowhere near the heart.

When a president models the notion of an imperial presidency, doesn't acknowledge that there are lanes, digs in, or actively undermines the Constitution, then you're at the heart.
