I took that phrase to be a return of basic freedoms, not just religious freedoms.

“When we were in Obama, as christians, we been persecuted a lot. When President Trump came, then all our rights are back - we have freedom of religion.
We persecuted Christians have our freedom of religion back. Silly me. Obviously that statement is not about freedom of religion.
