If you are a religious zealot, what about life isn't religion?

Indeed.

Freedom of religion covers beliefs and practices. The belief part is easy because you believe in your head and your heart so that's contained. The practice part is where it gets tricky because some practices are private or contained within a religious community but others intersect with the religious and secular practices of others within range. Just as the freedom to throw your fist ends at the other guy's nose, however, so it is with religious practices. Religious zealots tend not to get that.
