There is no way to have more parties without giving the election to the Republicans. That is why we must support the Democrats, and especially at this time when our democracy lies in the balance. Nader and Jill Stein are responsible for much of the travesty this century by the Republicans.. They cost us two elections. And they were both loony. (A common DEM refrain despite the internecine battles ) The progressives like Sanders' ideas always get sacrificed mostly .. because DEM moderates are ... well *not very progressive* :) ... I still think you guys need more political parties but I know that is anathema to both sides .. epicure said DEMS are a big tent... she is exactly correct.. my point is maybe too big ? You guys do not need a parliamentary system like ours... You have negotiations ALREADY at the Senate and House level... (Intramural) within DEMS and within Pubs That would not change if you more parties... Just clearer battle lines... and more might get done ...
