Like you said, we see things differently. I am a zealot about education for one reason, I have notice their is a strong correlation between education and humane behavior by both individuals and society.

An yes, I know many uneducated folks are very humane and kind

Recognizing the power of education to manifest a more civilized and humane society seems to me to be very important.

All I am saying is that we have the ability to make ourselves smarter. And history tells me the smarter a society is, in the main, the more humane it is.

We simply do not find the type of barbarism in say the Nordic countries where education is highly valued than in say Afghanistan where a 13th century of mostly very uneducated people and society rules.

And recognizing that abstract thinkers can see things like civil rights better than concrete thinkers is important because it tells us what we need to strive for.

We also know poor kids enter kindergarten two years behind rich kids, intellectually as tested, because they do not have the same early childhood education the rich kids have; and that realization is important because it means the poor kids start out life with a huge handicap i.e they and the teachers think they are slow, and that is not the case, they simply lacked the things like pre school, and a rich verbal environment that most rich folks and academics make sure their kids get and can afford it.

There are reasons for things and knowing the reasons is the science of sociology. .

<,

I'm totally results driven - no one smart self-identifies as "smart" - it is arrogant and limited. No one is smart about everything. We need each other and if someone thinks they are smart and others are dumb - they need to work on sharing their knowledge with the others.

My frustration is when people don't want to accept the data of a better way. If something is provably better - everyone should adopt it. Simple as that - no ego. Just do it the way that gets it done better, with the best quality and the cheapest, fastest way unless there is a down side. Protection of silos is not one of the areas for optimization.

Saying how smart we all are and that we are smarter than our ancestors delays us from making improvements - because we are so sure we are smart that we are already doing the smart thing.

That is some major bullshit thinking. IMO.
