I am afraid you are missing the big picture.

We DO need as many abstract thinkers as possible as long as we live in a DEMOCRACY!

Because without educated voters you get tyrants.

The thing that divides the Democrats and the Republicans at the edges is that we have many more abstract thinkers than they do.

AND the reason the females are fleeing the Republican party for the Democratic party is that they now go to college 60% to 40% over men, and as such, have become better thinkers and can tell that the Republican party is full of criminals.

Women are Dems by about a 56% to 38% for males who are still mostly pubs.

Knowing the difference between the Republican party for those who do not have a vested interested in the Democrats, is a matter of EDUCATION!!

Below is the proof. And the gap has widened significantly in the last four years!

"In Pew Research Center’s August survey, registered voters with a college degree or more education favor Clinton over Trump by 23 percentage points (52% Clinton vs. 29% Trump) in a four-way contest that included Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson (supported by 11% of voters with at least a college degree) and Green Party candidate Jill Stein (4%).

<,

We don't need abstract thinkers at all levels. I've literally dug sewer lines out - so I'm no elitist. There are people who are just good at doing things - whether it is cooking or sawing a log - and are happy doing what they need to do. Give them a solid process and they will follow it.

What we do on this thread - is not what most people do - we "overthink things". I used a different vocabulary on the shop floor than I did in the conference room. Over-educating people on topics they won't need will be met with both resentment and mockery. But giving them a good basic understanding of bullshit and how con artists work would be useful.
