Based on the chart in the 2nd link, the margin debt is quite healthy and a non-issue.

Margin debt rises with the market. We've been having a big bull run, so naturally the margin is also at an all time high.

What becomes worrisome is if the margin debt consistently grows at a faster rate than the market. However, that info is delayed so much that by the time you have it, it is likely useless.

PS all short selling is 50% margin.
