I heard the guy's at Bay read those word's of wisdom and closed up shop yesterday.

Duncan, as you can see below, Noel Lindsay isn't worth betting the farm on. A good analyst is one that can look in the future and see a stock moving up and one that will move down. In August, Noel upgraded Bay AFTER they had a 4 month run in which time they increased 100% in value. Bay's percentage revenue growth over the past 3 quarters has outpaced even Cisco. Ironic how Lindsay downgraded Bay after their last earning announcement, AFTER they had slipped off their high of 40+ in October to the mid 20's due largely to Asian worries. Missed 100% up and 50% down, not very credible.

Bay Networks (BAY) 32 3/16: Deutsche Morgan Grenfell upgrades shares of networking concern to a "buy" from an "accumulate." Says sales during first half of qtr have been robust. Ups Q1 revenue estimate to $596 mln from $566 mln. Raises EPS view to $0.19 from $0.16. Street mean for qtr is $0.16. (Posted 8:44 ET).

Speaking of Noel Lindsay, you've avoided my question about Chambers following in Houses footsteps almost as eloquently as Chambers avoided Lindsay's question on the conference call about transitioning from traditional routers to layer 3 gigabit switches. BTW I did see today's announcement about gig stuff in the cat 5000. I guess if that were a viable layer 3 switch, that car company in Detroit, among other Cisco clients would have used it instead of Bay's Accelar.
