We know, without out any doubt, neither of these drugs works post hospitalization. How is it even ethical to perform this kind of test going forward? We know, with essential certainty, that they work in the first week, after which the viral load is too high for these drugs to contain it.

We knew this before the end of April, 2020 for HCQ.
