There were some pretty good quips in the article...

Liked the bit about a snowball fight escalating into the Joint Chiefs of Staff contemplating nuclear outcomes...

For now.. I agree Crypto probably not big enough, yet, to take down the whole system were the entire scheme to fail... but, depending on timing and "parallel events"... it could already easily prove to be an un-useful adjunct were other risks realized ?

The dependencies are interesting... made more interesting by the pace of growth shown in the Tether usage.

Scaling Crypto risks now... vs. a couple of months from now if that rate of growth continues ?

The ETF story, though... seems likely to take some of the wind out of Tether's sails... more if the public opts to use less direct forms of investment that don't require them having wallets, and multiple accounts with overlapping intermediaries, and the bother of converting this to that just to be able to play... And, were the ETFs to accept investment inflows in Crypto... (and why wouldn't they ?)... then the entire rationale for Tether existing could be altered...

Still looks like established banks are winning all the "ease of use" arguments... rich in irony, of course, as the banks appear more than happy to be the winners in facilitating the trade in the "asset" whose proponents and patrons alike are basing their market interest in the trade on it being about giving the finger to the banks...
