I know you asked Bob, but the rental car companies have started buying cars and SUV's at used car auctions because of the low supply available from the automakers. This is unheard of.

That's causing the prices at the auctions to spike even more recently, as the rental car companies need supply at all costs, especially low mileage vehicles.
