Lucas, Dan has already responded to this but if you will allow me to chime in. You said,<<<My conjecture is that there are jitters about earnings.>>> Where are there jitters about earnings? I have yet to experience these feelings.
<<<3Com commented that it surpassed MRVC/Intel in marketshare for Fast Ethernet switches.>>> Lucas come on. Would you not agree there is enough market to go around, and I think Dan answered the "switch" part very well.
<<<But of course since growth in FE is so explosive this past year, it is still possible that MRVC will report good earnings. But losing market share to your biggest competitor is never a good thing.>>> Interesting comment. It is possible that MRVC will show good earnings? Of course it is possible. I think the word I will use is probable. And what market share has MRVC lost? This is a small company going against huge competitors that have been first to the market, first to sell, and has an extremely competitive price as well. Growth rates have also been phenominal. Look at Dans previous post regarding the sales alliances this company has.
<<<All will become clear in about 2 weeks.>>> Now Lucas I couldnt agree with you more. You seem to have more than a passing interest in MRVC. I am curious what that may be. Do you own shares of MRVC? Are you shorting MRVC? What exactally is your attraction to this stock? Do not get me wrong. I have appreciated your comments. I am not calling you a short, however I am interested in your motives. If you are leaning to the side of MRVC not meeting earnings estimates, and I have made myself clear that I believe they will meet or surpass the estimates. Lets put a small friendly wager on the outcome. I would be more than willing to wager a round of golf at our favorite courses, or even a dinner. It will make the success of one of us that much better. If you do not wish to respond in here please feel free to E-mail me at........ noggin@psnw.com or Noggin44@aol.com
Best Regards,
Sam
