Sadly for the retirees and soon to be retirees, I could see a big bear market, probably as big as 2000-2003 if not bigger in magnitude. This sucks, but the valuations are very crazy. The dollar melt could happen concurrently. Ouch! I am buying stocks like the crowd, but the allocation is low, especially US stocks. The Fed decided it’s their job to keep the stock market propped. No, I don’t think we will have Zimbabwe, in the form of stock market of Zimbabwe in Zimbabwean dollars. I think our stocks are likely to crash as the credit bubble pops. Goods might get cheaper if this happens quickly, but no guarantees. Kinda like the lumber. A crash, but overall higher. In a way the market must find discover it’s price via price discovery, a long beaten down concept. Wall Street might finally jump, the only positive I see in this -g- we might see domino derivative folding of US economy and financial markets, a scary concept. Maybe they will deal with it right this time.
