The simplest answer is it becomes treasury stock. I think he was asking who owns the company. In this case, the who is the Corporation (an artificial person) owns it but it is still controlled by the BOD and management. It didn't go private it just doesn't trade anymore. To go private will require SEC filings once the company reacquires all outstanding stock and it is in the treasury. G-n-G
