I could not stop thinking about the reasons of Mueller commission failure.
Eventually my own conspiracy theory was born about failure of Mueller commission.
My view is that Mueller commission was destined to fail, because it was designed to fail.
1. Remember how it started? It happened under growing pressure to investigate Trump-Russia collusion. The Congress was not in a rush given Republican majority.
Suddenly Deputy AG Rosenstein appoints Mueller as Special counsel. Special Counsel, not Independent Counsel. What's the difference? Special Counsel is not independent - he reports to DOJ and DOJ and AG report to President. How could Special Counsel who indirectly reports to President investigate the same President? Here you go... Also Special Counsel is restricted by DOJ rules - President cannot be interrogated, President cannot be charged, President cannot be indicted, President and WH staff are protected by executive privileges and so on. You got the picture, right?
Do you remember what Ken Starr did when he was appointed as Independent Counsel to investigate Bill Clinton sexual affair? He interrogated President under oath, he interrogated even Secret Service agents. Here is the difference...
2. Mueller and his commission made a huge amount of work, but direction of this work looked odd.
Instead of investigating facts in Steel dossier, and connection between Trump campaign, Wikileaks and KGB, instead of focusing on voters data supplied by Trump campaign to Cambridge Analitica owned by Russians and other suspicious links, the commission moved to another area - investigated campaign managers on unrelated charges, and became very successful in it.
37 indictments, 7 guilty pleas, and 5 people in prison. Wow!
Manafort, Gates, Flynn, Stone, Cohen all convicted. Great results! But how they were related to Russian collusion? Most of them were not related at all.
What do FBI and prosecutors do with indicted criminals who are ready to make a deal? They prosecute mobsters to get the mafia boss . It how FBI, DOJ work in this country . There was no doubt that Trump campaign and later his administration was organized and ruled as mafia rather than political organization.
"Do you want a good deal? Just give me something on your boss" Did it work with powerful and tough Mueller in charge? No way... Not one of those criminals who were offered a deal was even asked to tell something about Trump and his Russian collusion. Not one.
How it may happen? With so many key people around Trump arrested, indicted and convicted nobody was even asked to give anything on Trump? It means only one thing - the commission was not going after Trump at all. Yes, commission created to impeach Trump was not really into it.
3 The results.
The report produced by Mueller Commission was very confusing. It was presented not to Congress, but to DOJ that gave AG opportunity to misrepresent, redact and hide it from Congress. AG even announced that Trump was completely exonerated by the report.
When report was finally published, Congress and people expected the answer - was Trump guilty or not? And there were no clear answer - according to the report he was kind of guilty, but not so much. It was the same song: We cannot say guilty, because we have to charge sitting President, but we cannot indict and charge President - in would be unfair to him, because he would not have protection of the court and other BS. It was now up to Republican majority Congress to decide if President must be impeached based on this confusing and inconclusive report. And you know end of the story...
4. The conclusion - Mueller commission was created just to prevent Congress to appoint Independent Counsel who might really investigate Trump- Russia collusion and prove it by real evidence that would force even Republican Congress to impeach and convict Donald Trump.
