I had to go back to see what that discussion contained. I think something must have happened on its own, because all those instructions are (and were) far beyond my ability to follow them. In addition, I was dealing with a major and ongoing health issue during all that time, but something happened that I can't remember and Thunderbird became functional again. As it's been all this time until last week.

Now, I suspect something with Windows updates, or ??? I've installed a new upgrade to Thunderbird and all appeared to go well. I have and use gmail with no problem but Thunderbird is a Comcast function, the only one I still have as Comcast wasn't available to me when I moved to Southern Arizona nearly 6 years ago.

Not sure what to do at this point.... thanks for checking in, just the same. Any new thoughts appreciated. I don't know how to contact Comcast for help, if that's even available.
