Hi Christine, I already read about the ancient fossils found in China in our local paper, however ours was a truncated version pushed back to page 12 to trivialize it. They don't like to alarm the Creationists in Texas with evolution facts on page, 1 like youse Californians. The Creationists know that theirs is a losing cause because all that they have is a book of mythology to go by, whereas scientists are continuing to fill in the missing gaps in evolutionary fact. One of their arguments has been to ask why there was no evidence of pre-Cambrian life. It looked like complex life suddenly appeared with no precursor. There was a rational explanation for this, of course. It is very difficult for soft-bodied simple life to leave a fossil. It was only because these organisms died in a special environment that they were preserved as fossils. But, sure enough, they have been found, just as predicted by evolution fact. It is one more argument that the Creationists have clearly lost, but I doubt if they will be swayed by facts. Their belief system is based on the fear of death. Del
