Hi AJ,

The disposal problems currently happening are the result of delaying the use of Yucca Mountains.

The build up of nuclear waste at nuclear plants is far more dangerous than the actual implementation of the repository.

Anti nuclear environmentalist have thrown all the usual delay techniques:

1) Shoshone Indian burial rights
2) Possible aquifer contamination - even though storage containment plans are designed to be waterproof
3)IF the Aquifer did become polluted it would migrate to a local valley with 1400 inhabitants and protected species near extinction

Yucca valley is the most studied real estate in the US. It is not completed but can become partially used right now, had the Obama administration stopped funding.

NOT using it is to see a 9 Billion expenditure be dormant and useless vs the much more dangerous storage utiltized by the now still operating nuclear plants in use.

I view it as an environmentalist over reach on what might happen and not an anlysis of the very sound engineering that has gone into the design and actual construction.

I smell the substantial renewable energy lobbyists and their never ending funding of politicians who troll for such monies.

With rolling black outs in California and now Texas, both states with very large reliance on renewables, we no doubt will once again look look at the only renewable source of electricity THAT IS RELIABLE.

The black outs will reawaken an open mind to the safety record of nuclear.

Not to mention that a well designed, over studied, facility that already exists, exposes the local population to less radiation (over 10,000 years) than that of a hip Xray!

Politics and money have been the problem, not Yucca Mountains design.

The delay and waste of tax payers money is more than consistent with a long history of green environmental alarmism that does not enhance progress, but just delays it.

The protests of fracking shale basins rings eerily similar to me.

The natural resource wealth and its development in the USA is and has been under attack from outside interests not wanting to see our national wealth progress.

It is relentless and nefarious in my mind!

Non none bitches about France and their reliance on nuclear!

Bob
