Weather pattern clues into early December
By Brett Anderson, AccuWeather senior meteorologist

Nov. 15, 2021

High pressure aloft is expected to build slowly over the southwestern United States and expand into the Rockies over the coming week, which will lead to a milder and drier pattern for much of the western U.S. At the same time, the active jet stream which has been sending large storms into the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia will lift a little more to the north, sending more of the precipitation up into British Columbia.

Fairly seasonable conditions are expected in the East; however, there are indications that there will be a dip in the jet stream in the East in early December, which may result in a chilly and stormier pattern for the northeastern U.S. and parts of Atlantic Canada.

A deep trough will likely persist near Alaska, keeping that region rather cold.
