Vancouver remains cut off from points north and east due to all the damaged highways, some of which will take weeks if not months to fix because the damage was so bad.

7000 people around the city of Merritt have been evacuated because their water and sewage systems were damaged, and several thousand other people in different locations are also out of their homes. Everyone including my musician friend -- he was just interviewed on national radio -- who was stranded between landslides on the highways was evacuated by helicopter, but he and thousands of others can't get home to Vancouver.

And just for fun, one of the three main bridges to downtown Vancouver is closed because a barge broke loose in the wind yesterday

Today, it is sunny but cold, so as feared, all that water up in the mountains is frozen.
