Bateman, I think he said on CNBC a few days ago that the events in Asia had A LOT to do with that change. As far as MU goes, part of me wants to think Ralph Acampora just stepped into something, as opposed to intentionally aggravating the squeeze. However, IMHO the "one-two punch" fist-pumping was a little distasteful. Speaking of fellow paisans...

In re: stop picking on Bob Pisani...

I was the one who made a mistake in criticizing their coverage of the Pru initiations. I thought John Lazlo was the guy at Pru (when he's actually at Paine Webber), so the "initiation" part of the Pru story didn't make sense to my ears. They got that right; I didn't...

...but I still don't think Pisani is very good <g>

Watch out for a possible "Lewinsky Friday". If true, the Betty Currie news is a very serious blow. Markets may be very restless leading up to Clinton's press conf. w/ Bitish P.M. Tony Blair @ 11 a.m. Plus, we get the Jan NF payroll #'s.
