Indeed, H was in the grand tradition of the Socratic method and with great patience, he taught from what he had to give, which was a lot, an understatement. And he was of a sort that gave as much as was needed, from the simple to the complex. on scale. He'd have had a following had he chosen to ever get a college degree let alone teach as a profession (for money).

I'm not a fan of Mishedlo as long members here might remember, but one thing is for sure, I cannot argue with success, and Mish graduated from SI into a viable, not totally uninteresting, business for profit, where most of us were doing all this crap for free, and still do.

But in the corner of the world were one makes a living at writing stuff about markets and such, he did a stand up job of making it happen in a perhaps credible way.

It's great that he fesses up and thanks H, deservedly, for some of his "originality", LOL.

That being said.. once upon a time I'd have thought everything "MIsh" he claim as his own. For once, he gave credit were credit was absolutely due. Good for him. Maybe he grew up.

Lots of folks grew up, and lots of folks didn't from the very old days now of SI. And lots are just as naive now as they day they started messing with it.

The experts, people who actually knew stuff, for the most part, departed 20 or more years ago after the dot com boom ended. These guys have long been gone from SI. They were the main reason one might want to hang out "here". They were in the industry or had the degrees to have a conversation about spindles in hard drives and developments toward getting legacy twisted pair to hold the ever growing volume of data bits flowing through the system. and so on. Lots of money was made out of these discussions and fundamentally, well grounded beyond the hype most couldn't comprehend anyway.

I digress.

Yep.. search Heinz on SI and you will see all an sundry conversations perhaps including where I first had our first serious encounter over computer associates I think.

I digressed.

Great mitch or misch or whatever his name is, did the right thing.
