Shucks folks, ya'll be talkin' some mighty powerful words. My budget won't allow me to use anything over a 25 cent word. Looks like some of you spent upwards of 55 cents or so. I'm glad we got some smart people here that can spell and cipher.

Steve -- You say in your CC example that he will have downside protection to 44 by selling the call for 1 point and the stock currently at 48 5/16. How do you figure this?

I have ordered the McMillan book and am trying to learn more about CC's. Since I will have a job and not be able to follow the mkts tick by tick I will be using this strategy more. It is such an EASY and low risk way to make steady money.

How about damage repair. Like when a stock starts flying past your strike price. Would it be good to cover then immediately roll to the next month at the same (or higher) strike price. Maybe the time to do this is at expiration when the call you are covering has zero premium left in it and then the new call you are selling for the next month out has premium. In that case, you go month to month and simply earn the premium. Make sense?

Any comments on covered calls appreciated.

Hey Guys -- Guess what -- the Big Dog has yet a third party interested in putting a leash on him....this is getting to be fun. But what do they know that I don't know? Three weeks ago I thought I was doomed to retire and never to be heard from again....time changes all...even our beloved drillers.
