That ridiculous John Deere contract is why you see more and more Chinese tractors around. High school dropouts demanding ridiculous pay. Companies raise prices, try to make up for decreased margins by charging for stupid stuff and common sense customers abandon them.
The newer tractors are near impossible to self maintain. If you run out of fuel, the dealership has to plug in to the computer before you are allowed to restart it. Most of the repair capability is dealer only.
Almost everyone out here now is switching to Kobuta though there's some blue and red rolling around too. I see less and less green.
I have old 60s JD tractors that I can fix anything myself. If I do have to go to the dealership for a part, the place is usually empty. I wonder why???
