I live in one of those right now, pending my build. In many cities they are buying them up hand over fist. Austin, Dallas, Miami. I saw some private deals that I could have bought into (I didn't). It was a big cause of the scarcity of homes and the rapid rise in prices. I have a couple of RE friends and the market here was crazy. One day listing and 3 offers. I suspect it is cooled off though because the guy put his home up next door and it doesn't have a pending sign after 3 weeks.

We are in a bubble. There has been a flight to assets. I have a two year old audi and the dealer wants to buy it back. If he ups his offer by 20 or 30 grand, I may consider. I put a lot more miles on my bikes than my car which gas less than 2k.
