Re: Middle Age Portfolio ... Additional Moves.

In keeping with the spirit I explained last night, one of the tasks a portfolio manager needs to do is to rebalance positions on occasion and see where they stand in regard to other positions.

Sometimes profits need to be taken before the market takes them from us. Sometimes under-performers need to be replaced, and other times some positions get much larger than the other holdings and need to be brought back down in size while building the others up in size.

The key here is that you don't want too much exposure to any one income producing asset so that you can manage the income flows better both from upside and downside forces.

With this in mind today I liquidated the rest of the KO position. I also trimmed another 19 shares of PEP.

The objective I am trying to achieve is to maintain or increase the portfolio yield while at the same time increase the organic dividend growth rate.

With the proceeds from the KO sale and the trimmed shares of PEP, I added to the following positions:

ASG .. BIP .. BTO .. DLR .. EOS .. LEG .. LYB .. SBUX .. SYY .. TSN .. TXN.

Here are the important facts.

The positions I am selling represent the following:

Market Value - $14,562
Income - $431
Yield - 2.96%
Dividend Growth - 4.44%

The positions I am buying represent:

Market Value - $14,482
Income - $552
Yield - 3.81%
Dividend Growth - 9.00%

Bottom Line:

A 28% increase in income over what the sold assets paid, a higher yield and a much higher dividend growth rate.

The objective of more income, higher yield and higher dividend growth rate has been achieved.
