We are pretty close in our positions. He was an untrained civilian who armed himself against an angry mob. This could not have ended well. Anyone with that kind of mindset doesn't have the politics that I'd agree with. That said, I can see why he would be motivated to do so, and more importantly I cannot see how after that decision was made and he faced that encounter, anyone else would have done better than he did. So I would not convict him of murder. If they had brought in a charge of stupidity and poor judgement, then I would convict him of that.
