One account is an IRA and has no leverage. Schwab takes two full days to settle trades, I assume that is industry standard. During that window I am not allowed to purchase new positions until after settlement.

The other account has similar restrictions I think. I use it as a means of moving money to pay bills and similar demands, it is a much smaller account but a lot more active with only a portion dedicated to investing at any one time.
