>> I think severe inflation is just a slow form of defaulting — slow enough for the politicians that caused it to find whom to blame and to escape responsibility. That comes at the cost of much suffering.

The entire concept embodies a notion that one can total irresponsibility comes with no price tag.

I used to watch a show on C-SPAN, years ago, in which they broadcast "Prime Minister's Questions" -- a recurring event at which members of Parliament posted about a half-dozen questions to the Prime Minister, televised. Many times it became pretty testy but it did require the PM to be publicly confronted with issues of the day. I don't know how it works now or even if they still do it. It has been years.

But it seems to me we need a way to question the president routinely -- not reporters, but opposition partisans.

I'm very tired of watching politicians, mainly Democrats, escape serious questioning. These people are pathological liars. I'd really like to see someone ask Joe Biden to explain the difference between a billion and a trillion.

This is something Trump could easily make happen if he wins again (my personal choice) by just saying, "I'm going to do this every week, at noon on Friday," then make it happen.

If a president doesn't have to pay for his comments being false, he has no motivation not to lie.
