LOL, don't get me started. When I was in Maine, there were many stupid hunting accidents. A woman checking her mail was shot by a hunter and his defense was that she was wearing white mittons so he thought they were a deer tail
Another shot his hunting partner on the other side of a tree line they were walking. (Obviously he knew the guy was walking in the other side)
One shot a guy in a bright red pickup truck because apparently that is what deer drive.
What gets me mad is you're supposed to only shoot bucks with antlers over a certain length/number. If hunters are shooting people, obviously they aren't sticking to those rules so how many illegal deer are being shot.
When hunting public land, I often would stumble on dead deer shot poorly that suffered a slow death or were too small to be legal so they were just left behind.
I've taken deer with rifle, pistol and bow and never had to shoot more than once or have it run over 25 yards. I hunted in South Dakota once and it sounded like world war 3. Out here I've heard clusters of 3-5 shots in the distance.
A lot of these idiots shouldn't be allowed to be in the woods.
As I type this, I'm watching one of my big bucks standing in the middle of my front field making sure some road hunter doesn't find the temptation too much.
