The line of succession goes further than Speaker of the House. I recall it goes at least 6-7 deep. Maybe we'll not the Cabinet. Every Cabinet official should have a Confirmation Hearing that takes him seriously, and to test or explore his qualifications to meet or fill a sudden change to another form of succession; or not. The Sec of Transportation is fourteenth, not a single-digit number.
