I think this may not be fair. If you work on a construction project - and you see a better way of getting something done - you may still have no choice but to follow the established methods and procedures.

So, in many of our states docs would have to go against such established protocols. Rightly or wrongly, but the studies published in major journals were firmly against certain treatments, like HCQ, claiming ineffectiveness and bad results.

On close examination, there were great flaws with those studies - and many other countries made different decisions. But still, in the US - for now - they stand. It took a lot of work - and great conviction - for many docs to stand up to it. And many paid the price.
